AICTE SSPCA Scheme 2024

The Support to Students for Participating in Competition Abroad Scheme (SSPCAS), established by the All India Council for Technical Education, provides Indian technical engineering students with travel reimbursements in exchange for their participation in foreign competitions. The scheme provides travel funding to individuals or groups of two to six students from diploma, B.E/B.Tech integrated M.Tech, M.E/M.Tech, MBA, MCA and hotel management programs that have been approved by the AICTE to compete in international competitions.

The chosen applicants will get a scholarship of up to Rs. 2 lakh to cover all of their costs, which will include international and domestic travel, registration fees, visa applications, housing, airport taxes, trip insurance and equipment purchases linked to the competition. The tournament will run for a maximum of 10 days.

Eligibility Criteria

Some of the eligibility criteria of the scheme is given below:

• The student’s technical course needs to be provided by an establishment recognized by the AICTE.
• During their time in school, a student will only be eligible for financial aid under the program once.
• A student or a team of two to six students may compete abroad under the scheme.
• Students enrolled in diploma, B.E./B.Tech, integrated M.Tech., M.E/M.Tech, MBA, MCA and hotel management programs that have been approved by the AICTE are eligible to participate in completion overseas.
• The student or group of students should participate in a nationwide competition where they have won the top position.

Financial Help Offered

• Domestic Travel: Actual airfare up to the cost of an AC III Class rail ticket will be covered for travel from an AICTE-approved institution to the nearest airport and back. Local public transportation costs to go to the event venue from the place of stay abroad.
• International Travel: This package provides flights in economy class to and from the international competition venue.
• The student who participates will get housing and board in addition to a registration fee (based on real or Rs.50,000, whichever is less).

Applying Procedure of AICTE SSPCA Scheme

• Apply offline for the AICTE New Delhi program.
• Following that, you must provide any necessary documentation.
• The application should then be submitted at least two months before the event begins.
• AICTE will provide all support needed to move the program forward.
• Expense incurred for transporting competitive equipment.

Process for Approval of the Proposal

• The submitted proposal will be reviewed by an expert who will ensure that they are appropriately prepared in every way.
• If the received proposal meets the criteria for Category A it will be immediately selected for competition and the expert committee’s final judgment will only address whether or not to incur the costs.
• Under Category B circumstances, the proposal will be reviewed by an expert committee. Their recommendation will inform the AICTE’s ultimate decision.
